5 Objects Book
This is the final product of my 5 objects book. For this project I decided to choose 5 necklaces that mean something to me. All these have come from someone special and for a special reason.

Some challenges that occurred along the design process were spacing of the pictures and text. As well as, the amount and angles of the photos. From the beginning I knew the type and colour palette I wanted to use, it was just the layout that needed extra planning.
First Iterations of the layout
These were the first Ideas that I had for the layout of the book. It was very plain and when trying to minimize the white space I went to far. In the end I decided on the last idea, but pushed the idea even further with borders, colour and contrast.
When editing I attempted different effects and used different tools in photoshop that I had never used before. These were my top two choices if I were to have the photos edited. But in the end I chose to only add some brightness and saturation, the natural look of the photos reminded me of professional photography and I thought that fit the look of the book.
Festival Identity System
I chose to create a festival called "Books and Beats". This festival is a literary festival as well as a music festival. The literary part of the festival happens during the day with favourite authors speaking about favourite books, and then at night time, musicians come to perform.

I decided to make it a literary and music festival because I wanted to create something that I would be interested in attending and since I love both reading and listening to music, I thought it would be a creative idea to work with.
My Logo, Business card, Letterform and Envelope:
Posters:
Website, Phone Website and Program Guide:
I decided on a red, white and black colour palette. In the beginning I chose a brown, red and orange colour palette because I wanted it to be an Autumn colour scheme. Slowly I removed colours and at the end it ended up being just red, black and white.
My Miro Board Research:
I chose these two festivals because of how bright their websites were, and because one is a literary festival while the other is a music festival. Both I was able to benefit from heavily, and they helped me when I was struggling to plan the days of the event.
Social Pastiche Posters
My design movement was Bauhaus and my theme was College Stress. I chose a sans-serif font to relate to bauhaus as well as basic colours to work with the bauhaus colour theme.
The process of creating this poster wasn't long. Once I had the idea I found a title font that related to bauhaus, but I ended up editing it anyways. I took out the bridge across the 'A', as well as, made the 'R' one continuous line.

The person is very abstract, so I tried to add some dimension by making the hair look 3-D. I like how it turned out, it gave the entire poster volume. Another way I added volume was with the words coming out of their mouth, I took Griffin's critique advice and curved them towards us. To make it seem like they were being blown out of the person's mouth at the viewer.
My other two poster iterations:
I had a lot of fun creating these but I enjoyed the contrast of my final one more, as well as the idea "Breathe" was more effective when talking about college stress.
My Miro Board Brainstorming:
As a group we came up with some ideas to help us create our posters. We also came up with some resources to put on our posters, so that we can guide students get the help they need.
My own research included, me picking a topic, and also picking two ways to gain information. I had 10 people take the survey I created, to make sure that I was covering the branches of stress that were needed. I got the idea for the word "Breathe" from the survey. To question 4 a majority of people mentioned that when they are feeling stressed they take a deep breath, and I think a lot of people can relate to that. So I thought it would be the most effective title.
